Casa degli Artisti annuncia l’apertura di E-Side – Insights on Electronic Music la sua prima open call per musicisti, adottando un tema che unisce diverse generazioni, la musica elettronica. Un universo ampio che ha l’obiettivo di permettere alle artiste/i di esplorare la propria ispirazione, senza limiti di genere, ma adottando l’elettronica come strumento di ricerca e sperimentazione.
La musica elettronica ha una storia centenaria, i primi strumenti considerati sintetici risalgono a inizi ‘900. Nel mezzo è passato di tutto – la sperimentazione di John Cage, il Dub e Drum&Bass, la Psichedelia, il Trip Hop, l’Acid Jazz, l’Ambient, la Techno, la Trance, fino alle contaminazioni elettroniche di cui è pervasa la musica contemporanea.
E-Side – Insights on Electronic Music nasce dalla volontà di esplorare le molteplici potenzialità della musica elettronica, per anni considerata un’etichetta di genere, oggi strumento musicale con cui sviluppare i progetti più diversi e sofisticati.
Le candidature, senza limiti di età e nazionalità, potranno essere presentate dal 06 giugno 2023 al 06 luglio 2023.
Il produttore Taketo Gohara sarà curatore e tutor del percorso di residenza E-Side – Insights on Electronic Music, ideato e coordinato per Casa degli Artisti da Francesco Piccolomini Naldi Bandini. Gohara ricopre anche il ruolo di presidente della giuria, composta da membri d’eccezione – Nur Al Habash, Riccardo Bonetti, Paola Cacciarelli, Sara Del Caldo, Giacomo De Poli, Dario Faini (Dardust), Fabio Luzietti, Jeff Mills, Roberto Pisoni, Mauro Refosco, Stefano Senardi, Elisa Toffoli – personalità ed esperte/i del mondo della musica e dell’arte che, insieme al board di Casa degli Artisti, avranno il compito di selezionare le artiste/i che parteciperanno al progetto.
Durante la residenza potranno essere organizzati studio visit di operatori del settore, critici e giornalisti. A fine residenza le/gli artiste/i presenteranno al pubblico il risultato del proprio lavoro in forma di un open studio all’interno dell’Atelier Musicale stesso. Lo sviluppo delle opere e gli open studio verranno seguiti dal punto di vista tecnico sonoro da un team guidato da Taketo Gohara e potranno essere registrati anche video in formato 3d con audio spazializzato.
La residenza offre uno spazio-tempo protetto e le condizioni ideali per connettersi con il senso del proprio fare e dedicarsi alla formazione, ricerca e creazione di un progetto musicale. I residenti avranno modo di confrontarsi con artiste/i di altre discipline e scambiare opinioni, suggerimenti e vere e proprie contaminazioni artistiche, che potranno arricchire tanto il momento della presentazione al pubblico quanto il loro percorso artistico in generale.
Il periodo di residenza andrà dal 1 settembre 2023 al 31 gennaio 2024. L’Atelier Musicale sarà messo a disposizione dei progetti selezionati, che svolgeranno, in successione, un periodo di residenza di 3 o 4 settimane ciascuno.
L’Atelier Musicale è arredato con comode sedute, divani e tavoli ed è dotato di:

Casa degli Artisti announces the opening of E-Side – Insights on Electronic Music its first open call for musicians, adopting a theme that unites different generations, electronic music. A broad universe that aims to allow artists to explore their inspiration, without genre limits, but adopting electronics as a tool for research and experimentation.
Electronic music has a 100-year history, with the first instruments considered synthetic dating back to the early 1900s. In between it has gone through everything-John Cage’s experimentation, Dub and Drum&Bass, Psychedelia, Trip Hop, Acid Jazz, Ambient, Techno, Trance, all the way to the electronic contaminations with which contemporary music is permeated.
E-Side – Insights on Electronic Music was born from the desire to explore the multiple potentialities of electronic music, for years considered a genre label, today a musical tool with which to develop the most diverse and sophisticated projects.
Applications, with no age or nationality limits, can be submitted from June 06, 2023 to July 06, 2023.
Producer Taketo Gohara will be curator and tutor of the residency track E-Side – Insights on Electronic Music, conceived and coordinated for Casa degli Artisti by Francesco Piccolomini Naldi Bandini. Gohara also holds the role of president of the jury, composed of exceptional members – Nur Al Habash, Riccardo Bonetti, Paola Cacciarelli, Sara Del Caldo, Giacomo De Poli, Dario Faini (Dardust), Fabio Luzietti, Jeff Mills, Roberto Pisoni, Mauro Refosco, Stefano Senardi, Elisa Toffoli – personalities and experts from the world of music and art who, together with the board of Casa degli Artisti, will have the task of selecting the artists who will participate in the project.
Studio visits by industry professionals, critics and journalists may be organized during the residency. At the end of the residency the artist(s) will present the result of their work to the public in the form of an open studio within the Atelier Musicale itself. The development of the works and the open studios will be supervised from a technical sound point of view by a team led by Taketo Gohara, and videos in 3D format with spatialized audio may also be recorded.
The residency offers a protected space-time and ideal conditions to connect with the sense of one’s own making and dedicate oneself to the training, research and creation of a musical project. Residents will have the opportunity to engage with artists from other disciplines and exchange opinions, suggestions and real artistic contaminations, which can enrich both the moment of presentation to the public and their artistic journey in general.
The residency period will run from September 1, 2023 to January 31, 2024. The Atelier Musicale will be made available to the selected projects, which will carry out, in succession, a residency period of 3 or 4 weeks each.

Curatore e Presidente della giuria/ Curator & Chairman of the Jury
Taketo Gohara nasce a Milano nel 1975 da una famiglia di artisti. Suo padre Yukio è pittore e designer mentre la madre Hiroko è soprano, con trascorsi in numerosi teatri internazionali e come docente di canto presso l’Università di lirica a Tokyo. Gohara studia sin da piccolo pianoforte e frequenta le scuole elementari e medie giapponesi a Milano. Si iscrive al Liceo classico Giosuè Carducci e si trasferisce poi al Liceo classico Parini; nello stesso periodo inizia a suonare la chitarra, il basso e altri strumenti in vari gruppi dell’underground milanese, per poi iscriversi ad un corso di tecnico del suono. Dopo il liceo inizia a lavorare ai Metropolis Recording studios. Lavora anche come traduttore di fumetti manga per alcune case editrici. Nel 2001 entra nelle Officine Meccaniche, studio di registrazione di Mauro Pagani. Qui, come primo lavoro, cura il disco Domani, ma fu poi con Vinicio Capossela che nasce un vero e proprio sodalizio artistico/produttivo che ebbe inizio con l’album Ovunque proteggi. Nel corso della sua carriera ha lavorato come produttore, arrangiatore e tecnico del suono con vari gruppi e artisti italiani, tra cui Vinicio Capossela, Brunori Sas, Elisa, Biagio Antonacci, Davide Van De Sfroos, Dardust, Motta, Vasco Brondi, Giovanni Caccamo, Renzo Rubino, Remo Anzovino, Cesare Picco, Ministri, Negramaro e Verdena. Come compositore ha creato negli anni diverse musiche per installazioni d’arte, danza e pubblicità. In ambito cinematografico è specializzato come sound designer e ha all’attivo più di 30 film come mixatore di colonne sonore in Surround. Insegna Sound Design all’Istituto Europeo di Design e al Centro Professione Musica di Milano.
Taketo Gohara was born in Milan in 1975 to a family of artists. His father Yukio is a painter and designer while his mother Hiroko is a soprano, with stints in numerous international theaters and as a voice teacher at the University of Opera in Tokyo. Gohara studied piano from an early age and attended Japanese elementary and middle schools in Milan. He enrolled in Liceo Classico Giosuè Carducci and then transferred to Liceo Classico Parini; at the same time he began playing guitar, bass, and other instruments in various Milanese underground groups and then enrolled in a sound technician course. After high school he began working at Metropolis Recording studios. He also works as a translator of manga comics for some publishing houses. In 2001 he joined Officine Meccaniche, Mauro Pagani’s recording studio. Here, as his first work, he edited the album Domani, but it was then with Vinicio Capossela that a true artistic/productive partnership was born, which began with the album Ovunque proteggi. Throughout his career he has worked as producer, arranger and sound engineer with various Italian groups and artists, including Vinicio Capossela, Brunori Sas, Elisa, Biagio Antonacci, Davide Van De Sfroos, Dardust, Motta, Vasco Brondi, Giovanni Caccamo, Renzo Rubino, Remo Anzovino, Cesare Picco, Ministri, Negramaro and Verdena. As a composer he has created various music for art installations, dance and advertising over the years. In film, he specializes as a sound designer and has more than 30 films to his credit as a Surround soundtrack mixer. He teaches Sound Design at the European Institute of Design and the Centro Professione Musica in Milan.

Nur Al Habash è nata a Roma nel 1986. È un’esperta di music business ed export musicale, e ha più di 10 anni di esperienza nell’industria musicale italiana. Ha iniziato la sua carriera nel 2006 a Roma formando un collettivo di ragazze a capo di un festival, una club night e una webzine. Negli anni successivi ha lavorato come giornalista musicale per diverse testate, e ha poi ricoperto per tre anni il ruolo di caporedattrice per Rockit.it, storica testata musicale italiana. Nel 2017 ha lanciato per SIAE il primo ufficio di export musicale italiano, Italia Music Export. Dal 2021 è a capo della Fondazione Italia Music Lab. Dal 2022 è Direttrice Artistica di Milano Music Week. Nel 2023 entra nel Cultural Advisory Board del British Council in Italia.
Nur Al Habash was born in Rome in 1986. She is an expert in music business and music export, and has more than 10 years of experience in the Italian music industry. She began her career in 2006 in Rome by forming a collective of girls running a festival, club night and webzine. In the following years, she worked as a music journalist for several newspapers, and then served for three years as editor-in-chief for Rockit.it, a historic Italian music publication. In 2017 she launched the first Italian music export office for SIAE, Italia Music Export. Since 2021 she has been head of the Italia Music Lab Foundation. From 2022 she is Artistic Director of Milano Music Week. In 2023 she joins the Cultural Advisory Board of the British Council in Italy.
Riccardo Bonetti dal 2022 guida il dipartimento di Red Bull Italia dedicato alla creazione, allo sviluppo e alla gestione di format musicali come Red Bull 64 Bars. Da DJ è stato resident del Dude Club di Milano fino alla sua chiusura e si esibisce spesso in club e festival. Nel 2020 ha creato l’etichetta musicale indipendente “BS Radio”, music network e anima musicale di Burro Studio.
Riccardo Bonetti since 2022 has led Red Bull Italia’s department dedicated to the creation, development and management of music formats such as Red Bull 64 Bars. As a DJ, he was resident at Dude Club in Milan until its closure and frequently performs at clubs and festivals. In 2020 he created the independent music label “BS Radio,” music network and musical soul of Burro Studio.
Paola Cacciarelli è Artist Relations Lead di Amazon Music Italy, dopo una lunga collaborazione con l’etichetta discografica ed editore musicale Sugarmusic, che l’ha vista ricoprire il ruolo di Head of Publishing prima e successivamente Head of Marketing dell’etichetta. In Amazon Music Italia inaugura il ruolo di prima Artist Relations Lead, con lo scopo di sviluppare nuove e importanti artist partnership in collaborazione con artisti, management e label.
Paola Cacciarelli is Artist Relations Lead at Amazon Music Italy, after a long collaboration with the record label and music publisher Sugarmusic, which saw her hold the role of Head of Publishing first and then Head of Marketing for the label. In Amazon Music Italy she inaugurates the role of first Artist Relations Lead, with the aim of developing new and important artist partnerships in collaboration with artists, management and labels.
Dardust è Dario Faini, pianista italiano della nuova generazione tra i più ascoltati al mondo. Come autore e produttore vanta un palmarés di oltre 70 dischi di Platino e oltre 500 milioni di streams. La sua musica ha accompagnato eventi di richiamo internazionale come il Superbowl, l’NBA All Star Game, il Keynote Apple e il Flag Handover nella Cerimonia di Chiusura dei Giochi Olimpici di Beijing 2022. Dardust is Dario Faini, a new generation Italian pianist who is among the most listened to in the world. As a songwriter and producer he boasts a palmarés of more than 70 Platinum records and over 500 million streams. His music has accompanied internationally renowned events such as the Superbowl, the NBA All Star Game, the Apple Keynote and the Flag Handover in the Closing Ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games. In the past year, he was featured in the interval act of the 66th Eurovision Song Contest and then performed in front of more than 150,000 spectators as Maestro Concertatore of the 25th Notte della Taranta in Melpignano, hosting international artists of the caliber of Stromae. In the fall of 2022 he released, on the international market for Sony Masterworks and Artist First, Duality double album brought the following spring on tour to major Italian theaters and European clubs through a spectacular two-act show capable of splitting the intimate soul of the piano solo to the rave-like atmospheres of the electronic set. Sara Del Caldo coltiva, studia e pratica la musica da sempre. Da più di 15 anni ha fatto della sua passione il suo lavoro, uscendo dalla confort zone che le ha permesso di ampliare la conoscenza del panorama e dei generi, per sbarcare a Radio Rai, dove si è occupata per anni della linea musicale di Radio2, delle mp, dei live, dei programmi musicali. Ha poi aperto Radio2 Indie, un canale digitale che porta il suo core nel nome: il primo canale Radio a occuparsi di Indie. Da settembre si dedica a tempo pieno a No Nome Radio, la nuova nata tra i canali digitali di Radio Rai, la prima radio digitale pensata come piattaforma per la Gen Z: una factory di giovani speaker e content creators selezionati tramite contest e call to actions.
Sara Del Caldo has been cultivating, studying and practicing music for as long as she can remember. For more than 15 years she has made her passion her job, stepping out of the comfort zone that allowed her to broaden her knowledge of the landscape and genres, to land at Radio Rai, where she was in charge of Radio2’s music lineup, mp, live, and music programs for years. She then opened Radio2 Indie, a digital channel that bears her core in its name: the first Radio channel to deal with Indie. Since September, she has been devoting herself full-time to No Nome Radio, the newest addition to Radio Rai’s digital channels, the first digital radio designed as a platform for Gen Z: a factory of young speakers and content creators selected through contests and calls to actions.
Giacomo De Poli (Depolique) si occupa da sempre di musica a 360°. Collaboratore, contributor e music editor per diverse realtà editoriali e multimediali (carta stampata e online) lavora come consulente musicale per brand, eventi e artisti (sia in Italia che all’estero). Attualmente è direttore artistico e responsabile della programmazione musicale per LifeGate Radio. Per LifeGate segue anche la maggior parte dei contenuti editoriali audio/podcast in veste di autore e produttore artistico/esecutivo.
Giacomo De Poli (Depolique) has always been involved in music at 360°. Collaborator, contributor and music editor for several publishing and multimedia realities (print and online) he works as music consultant for brands, events and artists (both in Italy and abroad). He is currently artistic director and music programming manager for LifeGate Radio. For LifeGate he also follows most of the audio/podcast editorial content as author and artistic/executive producer.
Fabio Luzietti è un giornalista professionista è attualmente ideatore e autore di programmi TV per Sky come Indie Jungle e My Generation. Sempre da autore collabora al programma settimanale Luce Social Club, in onda ogni venerdì sera su Sky Arte.Dal 2016 al 2020 è stato responsabile della programmazione musicale di Radio Sonica 90.7 FM e conduttore del programma quotidiano in onda dalle 10.00 alle 13.00. Per quindici anni, fino a luglio 2016, è stato il coordinatore musicale della storica emittente romana Radio Città Futura 97.7 FM.
Fabio Luzietti is a professional journalist is currently the creator and author of TV programs for Sky such as Indie Jungle and My Generation. Also as an author, he collaborates on the weekly program Luce Social Club, aired every Friday night on Sky Arte.From 2016 to 2020, he was in charge of music programming at Radio Sonica 90.7 FM and host of the daily program aired from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For fifteen years, until July 2016, he was the music coordinator of the historic Roman radio station Radio Città Futura 97.7 FM.
Jeff Mills – Profondamente abitato dalla fantascienza, il DJ, produttore e artista Jeff Mills ne adotta le idee, i concetti, le storie e l’estetica fin dall’inizio. Conquistando lo spazio, la sua musica incarna il futuro, rispetta il passato e rimane al tempo stesso ben ancorata nel presente. Quando nel 1992 ha fondato la sua etichetta discografica Axis – con un logo composto da quattro triangoli che puntano a un centro invisibile, Mills ha scelto il principio di rotazione del sistema solare quale estetica, concetto e modello di creatività. Jeff Mills non si è mai crogiolato nel suo status di DJ e ha sempre realizzato performance eccezionali; è il maestro degli scenari straordinari e prende in prestito dalla fantascienza l’idea del domani dell’uomo comune. Nel 2001 si è dedicato alla techno epica con la sua versione della colonna sonora di Metropolis, che ha anche suonato dal vivo con il film originale. Il 16 settembre 2004 ha partecipato a un dj set di sette ore con Laurent Garnier al Fabric di Londra e due anni dopo il suo lavoro Blue Potential è stato registrato con l’Orchestra filarmonica di Montpellier. Nel 2016 collabora con Jean-Michel Jarre per la realizzazione del brano Circus contenuto nell’album Electronica 2: The Heart of Noise.
Jeff Mills – Deeply inhabited by science fiction, DJ, producer and artist Jeff Mills adopts its ideas, concepts, stories and aesthetics from the very beginning. Conquering space, his music embodies the future, respects the past and yet remains firmly anchored in the present. When he founded his record label Axis in 1992-with a logo consisting of four triangles pointing to an invisible center-Mills chose the rotating principle of the solar system as his aesthetic, concept and model for creativity. Jeff Mills has never basked in his DJ status and has always delivered exceptional performances; he is the master of extraordinary scenarios and borrows from science fiction the idea of tomorrow for the common man. In 2001 he turned to epic techno with his version of the Metropolis soundtrack, which he also played live with the original film. On September 16, 2004, he participated in a seven-hour DJ set with Laurent Garnier at Fabric in London, and two years later his work Blue Potential was recorded with the Montpellier Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2016 he collaborated with Jean-Michel Jarre on the track Circus contained on the album Electronica 2: The Heart of Noise.
Roberto Pisoni ha lavorato per i canali cinema di Sky Italia fin dal loro lancio nel 2003, prima in produzione e poi all’interno della direzione creativa contribuendo a definire il brand e l’identità di rete. Dal 2009 ha ricoperto il ruolo di Programming Manager di Sky Cinema. Precedentemente ha lavorato per il canale Studio Universal come autore, programmista regista e promo producer. È direttore di Sky Arte HD dal 2012, anno di partenza del canale, e guida lo Sky Arts Production HUB (polo internazionale per la produzione di contenuti culturali) sin dalla sua creazione avvenuta nell’aprile del 2015. Il suo lavoro televisivo è stato premiato in numerose occasioni. Tra i premi vinti: 4 Gold Promax Awards, 3 Silver Promax Awards, 2 Silver Telly Awards, 1 D&AD Award, 2 Eutelsat Award, 1 Gold e 1 Silver Award al New York Festival.
Roberto Pisoni has worked for Sky Italia’s cinema channels since their launch in 2003, first in production and then within the creative direction helping to define the brand and network identity. Since 2009 he has held the role of Programming Manager for Sky Cinema. Previously he worked for the Studio Universal channel as a writer, programming director and promo producer. He has been director of Sky Arte HD since 2012, when the channel was launched, and has led the Sky Arts Production HUB (an international hub for cultural content production) since its creation in April 2015. His television work has been awarded on numerous occasions. Mauro Refosco è un percussionista vincitore di un Grammy Award e nominato agli Emmy e vive a New York. Nato a Joacaba, in Brasile, una piccola città dello stato meridionale di Santa Catarina, Mauro è arrivato negli Stati Uniti nel 1992 e ha conseguito un master in percussioni presso la Manhattan School of Music. Subito dopo la laurea alla Manhattan School of Music, ha partecipato al tour mondiale di David Byrne del 1994, suonando le percussioni e gli strumenti a fiato. Al termine del tour, ha deciso di fare carriera negli Stati Uniti e si è presto impegnato a registrare e suonare musica dal vivo con diversi artisti. Mauro Refosco is a Grammy Awarded and Emmy-nominated percussionist based in New York City. He was born in Joacaba, Brazil, a small city in the southern state of Santa Catarina. Mauro came to the United States in 1992 and received a master’s degree in percussion from the Manhattan School of Music. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in percussion from Sao Paulo State University. Right after graduating from the Manhattan School of Music, he joined David Byrne’s 1994 world tour, playing percussion and ballet instruments. When the tour ended, he decided to make his career in the United States and soon became busy recording and playing live music with a variety of artists. In 1997, he joined the legendary jazz-punk outfit Lounge Lizards, led by John Lurie. In 2002, he formed a band, Forro in the Dark, which introduced a popular Brazilian music style — forro — to a global audience. FITDhas recorded three acclaimed albums, and after David Byrne’s 2008-2009 tour for Everything That HappensWill Happen Today, Mauro was asked to join Thom Yorke’s new project, Atoms For Peace, along with drummer Joey Waronker, Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, and Flea of the Red Hot ChiliPeppers. The group went on a short tour in 2009, which included headlining Coachella. In 2010, the Red Hot Chili Peppers invited Mauro to record percussion on their latest album, I’m With You. Subsequently, he joined their worldwide tour and has performed live with RHCP for audiences around the world. In 2018, he was both the musical director and a percussionist for David Byrne’s world tour American Utopia. In 2019 and 2020, Mauro performed on Broadway in two runs of American Utopia, first at the Hudson Theater, and then at the St. James Theater. He also appeared in the 2020 film of the musical directed by SpikeLee.
Stefano Senardi – Laureato in Lettere e Filosofia all’Università degli Studi di Genova, inizia la carriera, ancora studente, in Cgd-Sugar all’ inizio degli anni ‘80. In poco tempo raggiunge l’apice della carriera discografica ricoprendo vari ruoli: da direttore generale della CGD East West (Gruppo Warner) a fine anni ‘80, a Presidente della PolyGram Italia dal 1992 al 1997 (amministratore delegato e presidente più̀ giovane d’Italia nel settore discografico). Durante il periodo WEA (Warner, Elekra, Atlantic) ha contribuito al raggiungimento di best seller internazionali, realizzando la raccolta “Le più belle canzoni di Frank Sinatra”, il cui grande successo è stato il motore del primo grande concerto italiano dell’artista. Pubblica per primo nel mondo il disco dei Simply Red e si occupa della promozione/marketing di artisti come Madonna (video “Live in Italy” e lancio europeo dell’album “Like a virgin”), Tracy Chapman 800mila copie (record di vendite europeo). Con l’etichetta Black Out firma, direttamente o attraverso Mescal, Subsonica, Negrita, Modena City Ramblers, CSI, Africa Unite, Casino Royale, Marlene Kuntz, Afterhours. È stato consulente e autore di programmi Tv come X Factor, Musica È, Che tempo che fa, Festival di Sanremo, Speciali Sky Arte “Prog revolution”, “Franco Battiato”, “Fernanda Pivano”. Ideatore, curatore e consulente Artistico “33 giri Italian Masters” su Sky Arte (2017-2022). Membro del Direttivo del Club Tenco dal 2014 ad oggi; membro del Comitato Scientifico della Fondazione Gaber; direttore artistico di Live Aid Roma, delegato da Bob Geldof nel 2004. Coautore del soggetto e della sceneggiatura e direttore creativo del film documentario “La Voce del Padrone”, vincitore del Nastro d’Argento 2023.
